New Autumn/Winter Menu

As the weather changes, so do our menus; introducing our new Autumn/Winter Menus!

Available from Thursday 12th October 2023

Lunch & Dinner Menu

Our new Lunch and Dinner Menu is full of exciting new dishes made from fresh seasonal ingredients, like our Warm Boa Bun with Jerusalem artichoke, tahini, BBQ miso glazed hen-of-the-wood mushroom and charred sweetcorn salsa or Venison Carpaccio with soused blackberries, watercress, radish, extra virgin olive oil and parmesan flakes, both available as a stunning starter or up-graded to a mouth-watering lighter main.

We still have our popular Homemade Chargrilled Burger and the iconic ‘Black Horse’ Beer Battered Fish & Chips for those of you that love the classics, but let us tempt you with one of our new main courses…

Why not try Roasted Duck Breast  served with yeast roasted cauliflower puree, girolles, salsify, marmite glazed shallots and dauphinoise potatoes finished with a port and shallot sauce, or how about our Chorizo & Almond Crusted Fillet of Hake with charred tenderstem broccoli, broccoli puree, celeriac, oyster mushroom and a chimichurri sauce? Have we enticed you yet?!

This is just a few of our new delectable dishes, not forgetting the 10oz Steaks, Pork Tomahawk and Beer-Brined Chicken Breast available ‘From The Grill’ and served with triple cooked chunky chips, home-smoked cherry tomatoes on the vine, rocket salad with ranch dressing and a choice of sauces.

Sunday Lunch

You can’t beat a roast dinner on a Sunday!  That’s why our tasty Traditional Sunday Roasts are so popular.  Choose from Sirloin of Beef, Leg of Lamb, Loin of Pork and Chicken Supreme – all locally sourced from independent butchers – or our vegetarian Nut Roast (adaptable to vegan), all served with roast potatoes, roast parsnips, roasted glazed carrots, seasonal green vegetables, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire pudding and roast gravy or vegan gravy.

Fancy something different? As well as our other delicious main courses, including Fresh Fish of The Day, our new starters can also be ordered as a lighter main so you can enjoy Oriental Style Crab Tian with pommes dauphine, frisée with toasted almonds and oriental pink grapefruit dressing or Curried Cauliflower Florets with pomegranate and mint dressing, kale, yogurt and spiced seeds.

Desserts

Still hungry?  Grab a spoon and tuck into one of our scrumptious new puds, like our Assiette Of Apple which celebrates the humble British apple by serving it three ways on one plate; apple tart tatin, apple panna cotta with ginger crumb and spiced apple ice cream, or how about our Baklava Tart with honey glazed fig, vegan pistachio ice cream – yum!

So book your table at The Black Horse this autumn and come and savour the fantastic flavours this season has to offer.
