“Chalet and food”

We have stayed in some very expensive hotels. Which have not come close to the service and quality of the food and accommodation! It was a joy to have breakfast in your own room in your own time! Making it a very relaxed evening and morning with the highest quality of surroundings and generous ingredients and creature comforts!

Had a surprise birthday meal at the Black Horse on Saturday evening. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food, wine & service from all staff was exceptional. We were the last to leave on Saturday night (after midnight) & again the staff didn’t seem to mind. We will definitely return.

Golden Wedding Celebration Dinner 15 Jan 2016

May we take this opportunity to thank all staff at The Black Horse for a fantastic evening on Friday past. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout and did everything that our kind brother & sister-in-law requested to make it a special night. Coupled with absolutely excellent food – as we have come to expect – a memorable evening that will long remain with us. Thank you.

Ruby Wedding Meal

Please say a huge thank you to your staff for our lovely anniversary meal on Sunday.  Without exception everyone enjoyed their food and we all thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon.  Your staff were friendly and accommodating and made the whole experience a good one.

Just wanted to say a Big Thank You to you all for the fabulous lunch yesterday!  The meal, atmosphere and the staff were all brilliant.  Everyone was delighted with it all and very, very impressed.

Anniversary meal – 12th October 2015

Someone forgot to book anniversary meal. So I may have mentioned this to staff when booking!  This was my first time here.  What a joy.  Very pleasant staff from phone call to seating, the card was a lovely touch.  Lovely surroundings clean facilities.  The staff were attentive and the meal tasty, pleasing to eye and pallet and filling.

This pub is a hidden gem.  We will definitely be returning.

Appreciation

Following a disappointing Fish Pie meal on 18th June this year we were invited to return and were offered a reduction in the cost. Seven of us returned on the 14 August and had a wonderful meal- two or our party were young girls and the staff were excellent.

We will continue to support this excellent restaurant.

Recent Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration lunch

We could not have wished for a more delightful venue or more delicious food on our special occasion. From the moment our guests arrived, the service was outstanding, attentive but not overbearing, and we really did appreciate all the efforts to ensure that our daughter’s gluten-free requirements were met, even extending to a dessert specially prepared for her. What service! We were looked after so well and we know that all our guests were delighted with their lunch choices and the venue. Many compliments to your chef as all the various courses were so beautifully cooked and presented. The raspberry soufflé in particular was scrumptious! but it was all lovely.

We have such good memories of that day and would not hesitate to recommend The Black Horse for such an occasion or indeed any time when you feel like eating out.

Sat in the shade in the garden eating strawberry ice cream with excellent service and cotton napkins. Up market place with mid market prices.
